Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of Fayette County Criminal History. Browsing content, opening a page, or using a search feature means that you accept every condition stated here. If you disagree with any condition, do not continue using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Fayette County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, state, or federal government agency. Neither the website nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or another use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource helps readers locate criminal-record channels in Fayette County and Alabama. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website, operated independently from every government office. It does not keep official criminal records, obtain records for visitors, perform official background checks, or submit filings on anyone's behalf.

Its role is to identify sources that hold Fayette County criminal records. Those sources include the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Circuit and District Courts, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry. Public access remains subject to Alabama law, including Ala. Code §36-12-40 and record-specific limits.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on lawful and fair conduct. You agree not to:

  • Violate federal, Alabama, or local law through your use
  • Stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass any person with information found here
  • Rely on website content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Enter systems or data that you have no permission to access
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools to the pages
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from using the resource

Alabama Code §41-9-601 also bars obtaining offender information by false pretenses or communicating it without authorization and provides criminal penalties.

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use website information or a linked tool to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against another person. Alabama Code §15-20A-8 requires a warning against unlawful injury, harassment, or crime directed at a person listed in the Alabama Sex Offender Registry or anyone at a reported home or work location. Misuse can have civil or criminal consequences. Registry information supports public awareness, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Fayette County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no credit report, consumer report, or background check. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer services through this website for applicant screening, rental decisions, insurance pricing, or credit judgments. You may not use website or linked-tool data to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check needed for a regulated purpose must come from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency or a provider that complies with the FCRA and all other applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is not legal advice. General explanations of Fayette County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Alabama expungement law applies to one person's facts. Seek advice from an attorney licensed in Alabama.

6. No Warranties

All material and functions are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records can change when charges are filed, dismissed, restricted, corrected, or expunged. Updates and gaps are unavoidable. Website text is never an official statement from the Fayette County courts, sheriff, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, or another public office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff pages, Alabama court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Following a link takes you to a service controlled by someone else. Fayette County Criminal History does not control its content, data practices, prices, or availability. Review the outside service's own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Fayette County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, changed, or used to create derivative content without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fayette County Criminal History is not liable for damages arising from website use, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold Fayette County Criminal History harmless from claims, actions, or demands caused by your website use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.
